Selected as one of nine resident artists I had the opportunity to work with world-renowned Scottish composer Anna Meredith to create music and visuals to for the final performance of The Hexagon Experiment (a programme showcasing women and non-binary artists in the interdisciplinary art world). This was one of the closing events for The Great Exhibition of the North.
This particular residency focussed on Micro/Macro scales and how the smallest detail can be expanded upon and the deconstruction and exploration of even the broadest concept. Vocalist and instrumental musicians are both welcome to apply alongside digital artists working in film, animation or other visual art.
The showcase event forms part of the final instalment of The Hexagon Experiment – an exciting six-part series bringing together pioneering women at the forefront of music, art and science. a celebration of female creativity.The final exhibition will take place at Cobalt Studios in Newcastle, and forms part of The Hexagon Experiment – a celebration of female creativity – which is part of the Great Exhibition Of The North, an 80-day event that started in June designed to promote creativity and innovation in the north of England.
